The S1 is Sheerline's award-winning aluminium lantern system. Its ultra-low-line appearance is intended to reduce bulky roof bars and give a cleaner view both from inside the room and from outside the property.
It is suited to new flat-roof extensions as well as replacement lantern projects where the existing kerb and structure are appropriate.

Natural ventilation
Add an opening vent without spoiling the lantern
The dedicated SheerVent® opening roof vent is designed specifically for the S1 lantern, allowing ventilation to be incorporated as part of the roof rather than relying on an unrelated rooflight detail.
Thermal performance matters overhead
A lantern contains a large glazed area, so frame and glass specification both matter. S1 uses Sheerline's Thermlock® technology to reduce heat transfer through the aluminium structure. We can discuss suitable glazing specifications for the size and intended use of the room.
Security from the roof down
The S1 is available with Secured by Design accreditation, giving projects an independently recognised security option as well as the slim architectural appearance.
